Wiggle Room: Finding space for movement within your rope practice

It is an online class that's very helpful for folks interested in improving their body handling and adding more play to their scene.

Workshop suitable for all levels tying and bodies being tied. 

How to use movement to your advantage within the scope of a rope scene, through the lens of a contemporary dancer.

This is a demo-only offering exploring and demonstrating how rope can help or hinder movement in your rope scene, informed by contemporary improvisational dance techniques. In this class, participants will discover how body handling, physical manipulation, intentional touch, and body to body contact can facilitate deeper connection and smoother scene setting within your rope practice.

This class will explore exercises for body handling, rope patterns conducive to “wiggling” and a suggestion of improvisation tasks to promote intimacy, closeness, and body awareness within your scene.

Any single-column tie

Bio: 

Sydona is a Brooklyn-based rope artist, movement practitioner, and photographer who uses her experience in classical dance to inspire her ventures into experimental and experiential art of all forms. She was first introduced to the New York kink scene in 2018 and has been deepening her practice as a rope performer, educator, and facilitator ever since. She's committed to creating safer, more inclusive, more accessible, and more educational kink spaces for the sake of more rope joy.

• You will need your own ropes and safety cutting tools.
