Bio:Â
Hua Hua is a Shibari artist and teacher, as well as the founder of Borderline Shibari, a platform with the aim of creating a Shibari community from awareness and the here and now. For years she lived in Shanghai and it was there where she began to teach shibari classes, conduct workshops and perform at various events in China. Currently, she lives in Europe, where she develops Borderline Shibari both online and offline.
Hua Hua firmly believes that the art of bondage is practiced from authenticity. For her, ropes create a bridge between two beings: between the inner and the outer and between the elevated and the underground. In addition to her work with shibari, her artistic work also includes experimental nude photography, physical theater, installations and collaborations with other artists for intercultural integration. Her work is influenced by BDSM, as well as including techniques from other disciplines in her Shibari teachings.
Hua Hua's teaching style focuses on intentionality, expression and the emotional process initiated by the ropes. Her works have been exhibited and used in different Shibari platforms such as Shibari Study and the Queer Rope festival.
